You've got plenty to choose from since you're in KL. There are the trains: KTM, LRT, monorail and MRT; RapidKL buses and cab services UBER and Grab. Now, depending where exactly you want to explore or in indulge in the city, so too will it determine which transport modes would be available to you.

If you just want to stick to hanging out in or around the city center, then you have the KTM to Mid Valley Megamall and Sunway Lagoon(a bit further), LRT to KLCC and Masjid Jamek, the monorail to Berjaya Times Square, and MRT to theCurve and 1 Utama.

With cab service, you can avoid queuing in line for a ticket and waiting for the train. However, the hassle with that is the high probability of getting stuck in a traffic jam instead.
