I am departing from KL, is the bus ticket price the same at Pudu as TBS?

Yes, the ticket prices are the same if the bus you are taking originally starts from either stop and has to pass by the other before starting on its journey. For example, if you're taking a bus from KL to Alor Setar with Transnasional, you can buy a ticket that departs from Hentian Duta or Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). Both tickets are sold for the same price (Do double check just to be sure. Price difference would only be a few ringgit at most). If the ticket prices are the same and you decide to depart from Hentian Duta when you've booked from TBS, you can try negotiating with the bus driver in advance.

As for whether the pricing of bus tickets is standard for all bus stations - no. It differs based on location, operator, and bus type available. For instance, Transnasional buses operate from Pekeliling Bus Terminal and TBS, but the routes they offer are different; one to the East Coast region, the other central and southern region. Also, there are operators offering the same routes but different coach quality.
